This item will present an opportunity to use the research skills that you were taught in the Workshops in Week 3. You are required to prepare and submit a short (about 8-10 pages) report about a major industry operating in Australia and internationally. You must find, from your research: 1. Data about the size of the industry, in Australia and internationally, expressed in monetary and quantity terms. 2. Data about the leading companies involved in that industry, listing the main products, together with monetary and quantity data. 3. Information about the main external environmental factors that impact the industry, especially environmental trends that the industry must plan to adapt to.
Your analysis will study the international cosmetics industry. This industry has been selected because it is the subject of great activity, worldwide, at present. Therefore your report must address the major issues that the industry has faced in the past 12 months, as well as the three points above.
Each student will prepare and submit his or her report individually. It is expected that you will need to use at least 15 significant references to prepare a satisfactory report. The use of repeated references from a firm’s website will be counted as a single reference.
